Invite
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
Invite
All members affirm a commitment to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed. The spiritual practice of invitation focuses on introducing people to Jesus Christ. Within our relationships with others there is a chance to share faith.
Zion Lutheran Church seeks to equip all members for lives of faith that proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in everyday living. Those lives show forth the truth of Christ even as members watch for ways to invite people to meet Jesus.
Of course, one place to meet Jesus is every week in worship. Living the spiritual discipline of invitation certainly involves inviting, indeed bringing friends, relatives, co-workers, and others to church to meet Jesus in worship and the sacraments.
Evangelism Committee
The Evangelism Committee is responsible for encouraging and supporting the congregation both in hospitality and in being an inviting community. They coordinate welcoming and following up with visitors, reception of new members, coffee fellowship after worship, and other activities intended to assist all members of Zion to live out their call to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
